ROSEHEATH RENO

A ground floor gut and second floor addition in the Danforth neighbourhood

PROJECT SUMMARY

Our clients hoped to bring more natural light into their ground floor and to reorganize the spaces in a more functional way. An existing window in the middle of the ground floor was converted to a new side entry, allowing for more daylight to penetrate the centre of the ground floor. The kitchen remains at the back of the house, but was remade with new custom cabinetry to provide a mix of open and closed storage that cleverly conceals necessary ductwork stacks. New custom millwork in the dining room provides concealed storage and a warm backdrop to anchor the room. The foyer remains open to the living room with a new custom shoe shelf that helps separate a tiled area from the rest of the room. Upstairs, a new bedroom was created over the existing kitchen, a new bathroom was inserted between the existing bedrooms, and the rest of the floor was given a facelift with new flooring and paint.
