URBAN COTTAGE
A backyard cottage with Muskoka charm
PROJECT SUMMARY
Our clients came to us to build an outbuilding at the back of their lot, to house a home office and workspace.
We conceived of this project as an urban cottage in the city, providing a relaxing respite right in the backyard. The cottage has a minimal footprint, of less than 200 square feet, with a full basement that houses a home spa and sauna. The ground floor has a powder room, kitchenette, and open living space for socializing, sleeping, or working.
In terms of construction, the wood framing is proposed to be left exposed on the interior, painted white, and the exterior envelope is to be insulated on the outside of the building. This project aims to bring Muskoka charm to downtown Toronto.
